What to do
During tummy time, choose a few toys to have on the mat with your baby.
When you start to play you could say, "I wonder what you will play with today? Do you want the rattle? Do you want the ball? Do you want monkey?" You might notice that after lots of repetition your baby looks towards the object as you say it.
When you choose something to offer to your baby, or if they reach towards something, comment again, "Oh you are having monkey! There you go monkey! Monkey, you are playing with .....” Say your baby’s name.
