Happy birthday to you – play parties with your toddler

What you need 

• Small sticks or cut-up straws 
• Boxes, playdough (or anything that could be a cake) 

What to do 

• Put a few sticks in a piece of playdough or a box. 
• Say something like, “I think it’s teddy’s birthday.” 
• Sing “Happy birthday" to teddy, and see if your toddler joins in.  
• Toddlers just love birthday candles, so why not suggest they blow out the ‘candles’ for teddy.  
• Play birthday parties for as long as your toddler is interested!
