Is it a bird, it is a plane? It doesn’t matter – it's super at being pulled and pushed around!
What you need
- A cardboard box, large, whole and intact
What to do
- Talk to your toddler about what vehicle they would like to make with the cardboard box. If this is the first time your toddler has thought about what they want the box to be, you can help them make a decision by discussing some of their favourite vehicles.
- Make a vehicle out of a cardboard box. You could stick on paper or cardboard wheels to its sides, attach some string so it can be pulled along, draw on some windows, or make a sign for it, like 'HMS Henry' or 'Lila's taxi'!
- Have their vehicle available to push and pull whenever they want to play, inside or out.
Good to know
It makes no difference how the cardboard box looks after it has been changed into a vehicle, as long as your toddler understands what it is.
