- A trip to a shop and time to browse items with your baby
What to do
- When you go shopping, invite your baby to help you choose what to buy.
- Perhaps go to the fruit and say, “We need fruit, shall we get oranges or apples?”
- Wait to see whether your baby points.
- Pick up the fruit they have chosen, and comment, “Apples, great, let's get three.”
Good to know
Because your baby is observing everything you do, modelling the skills is one of the most effective ways to teach them.
