I’m here, you can play – give your baby time to play independently

What to try 

• Have some toys stored low down, so your baby can get them without your help. You might have a low toy shelf or get some toys out in a certain area for them to play with.  
• Stay close but let your baby play by themselves.  
• Simply offering an occasional smile or some words of reassurance might be enough to encourage your baby to play independently of you for a short time.
