What you need
- Bubble mixture and a suitable blower
What to do
- Blow some bubbles just above your toddler’s head.
- Your toddler may watch the bubbles being blown with anticipation before moving their body either towards or away from them.
- Watch the bubbles as they drift through the air, land on the ground, or pop as they make contact with something.
- Talk about what’s happening.
- You might say something like, "Wow! That one went pop!" or "That one has landed, try and pop it!”
Good to know
If you decide to let your toddler blow some bubbles, give them the bubble wand only as they may try to drink the solution.
They might not quite have mastered the skill of blowing with their mouth yet, so watch them and be ready to support them if they get frustrated.
Plus, you can make your own bubble solution by mixing 50ml of washing-up liquid with 300ml of water.
