How was today? Have an end of day chat to practice the art of conversation

What to do

  1. At bedtime, talk to your child about their day.
  2. Make a comment such as, “I liked going to the park, you went on that big slide!”

  4. Listen and respond with sounds that show you are listening such as ‘yeah’ and ‘mm’.
  5. To carry on the conversation tell them about your day.
  6. Notice if they use the same sounds to show they’re listening to you.
