How story time can encourage words

What to try

Share books with your baby at different times of the day. Encourage them to say as many words as they can.
Have one or two ‘go to’ books that you read daily.
Point to objects and animals in the illustrations and say what they are.
Give your baby time to look at the illustrations. Point to them and pause for your baby to try and tell you what you have pointed at.
