What you need
- Your baby’s favourite toys
What to do
- Play with the toys.
- If your baby turns away from you, hide one of the toys behind your back.
- When they turn around you will know by their face if they have noticed one has gone missing.
- Your baby might also tell you using gestures and sounds that a toy has gone.
- Before your baby gets upset, whip the toy back again and say, “Aren’t you amazing? You knew your toy was hiding.”
Good to know
Start with a small number of toys – your baby’s memory is still growing, and they might not remember all the toys if there are plenty to play with. Choose two or three at first, then add more when your baby shows signs of being ready.
