Hello there – say hello to family and friends together

What to try 

• When you are meeting with friends or family that your baby knows, invite them to say hello to everyone, one at a time.  
• You could say, “Oh look who is here, let’s say hello!”  
• You might need to do all the talking at first as your baby watches and listens.  
• You might say, “Here is Grandpa. Hello Grandpa.”  
• Pause to give your baby a chance to say hello – but don’t worry if they are more interested in watching and listening than speaking themselves.
