Have a ball! Encouraging your baby to bounce and stand up

What you need 

  • A medium-sized ball, like a beach ball or a soft football 

 

What to do 

  1. Place the ball in a safe place on the floor.  
  2. Sit your baby on the ball, holding them securely at all times. 
  3. Gently bounce them up from the ball, providing enough time for your baby to bear weight on their feet.  
  4. Gently place them back on the ball again and repeat this for as long as they are enjoying it.
