Getting out and about – walking for wellbeing and comfort

What to try 

Motion can be comforting for your baby and going for a daily walk might also help your wellbeing.  

  • Try to find time for a walk each day; this could be a short walk, staying close to home if you are unsure if your baby will settle.  
  • The motion of a pram, pushchair or sling might help your baby to settle and sleep.  
  • Spending time outside gives you and them different sensory experiences which can be soothing.
