Feet on feet – walking forwards while your baby walks backward

What to do 

  1. Stand your toddler on your feet, with them facing you holding their hands.  
  2. Start to walk forwards and your toddler’s legs will travel backward. This is a fun activity for both of you so don’t be afraid to make your walk a little silly.  
  3. Alternatively, you could position your toddler so they are facing away from you and then walk backwards yourself.  
  4. Your toddler will get a good sensation of what walking backwards feels like.  

 

Just be mindful that you should be in a safe space when walking backward with your toddler.
