Feet on feet – walking forwards while your baby walks backward
What to do
- Stand your toddler on your feet, with them facing you holding their hands.
- Start to walk forwards and your toddler’s legs will travel backward. This is a fun activity for both of you so don’t be afraid to make your walk a little silly.
- Alternatively, you could position your toddler so they are facing away from you and then walk backwards yourself.
- Your toddler will get a good sensation of what walking backwards feels like.
Just be mindful that you should be in a safe space when walking backward with your toddler.
