Eyes... nose... cheeky, cheeky chin! A simple rhyme to celebrate your baby’s little face

What to do 

• When your baby is resting on your lap, or playing on their back, recite this rhyme softly to them while stroking each body part very gently as you say its name.  

Eyes...(gently stroke the eyebrows or next to the outer corner of your baby’s eyes) 

Nose... (stroke your finger down your baby’s nose) 

Cheeky, cheeky chin... (tickle each cheek, and then your baby’s chin) 

Cheeky, cheeky chin, eyes nose! (Gently touch each part you’re your baby’s face as you say the words again!) 

Good to know 

Not only will your baby enjoy the stimulation they receive from your gentle touch and soothing tone of voice, if they enjoy this song over time, they’ll associate being touched with the words they hear to help develop their awareness of their body – also known as their proprioceptive sense.
