What you need
- Empty egg cartons – you might need a few around to begin with
What to do
- Make single blocks, double blocks, and quadruple blocks by cutting down some of the cartons (make sure to leave some complete).
- While your toddler is playing, set out the cartons.
- Show them how to stack the complete cartons on top of each other.
- Next, begin to add some of the cartons that have been trimmed down.
Good to know
At this stage, your toddler will be investigating the boxes and they may not be able to stack the cut-down cartons.
Many of the towers will topple over, but this simply adds to the fun. Praise all attempts your toddler makes to stack the cartons.
