What you need
- Leaflets, catalogues or magazines
What to do
- Give your toddler some leaflets, catalogues or old magazines to look at.
- When you see what they are interested in, talk about those things.
- Make sure you pause so they have time to speak too, and respond to their comments.
- Your toddler might point at things that are unfamiliar to ask you to tell them what they are, or might ask, “What’s that?”
- Respond to their gestures and questions, and keep chatting for as long as they stay interested.
