Do you hear what I hear? – Let's go on a sound walk
What you need
- Some time to explore the house together
What to do
- Take your baby on a walking tour of sounds in your home.
- As you move around your home, name the sound you can hear and make up your own version of it with your voice.
- Sounds that you might find could be a doorbell, telephone, tap running, door closing, typing on a keyboard, footsteps, cutlery moving, and a hairdryer on a quiet setting.
Good to know
You can also do this together outside, or when you visit family and friends. That way, your baby will be exposed to lots of new sounds.
