Cuddles and coordination – helping your baby develop their vision and fine motor skills during cosy moments

What you need 

• A toy 

What to do 

• Hold your baby on your lap. 
• Hold the toy in front of them, move it slightly to attract their attention.  
• Make sure your baby has seen the toy as they will need to coordinate their vision with their growing motor skills to successfully grasp it. 
• When your baby is looking at the toy, hold it still and give them time to reach for it.  
• If they don’t reach the object the first time, keep holding it for them so they can have another go; it might take a few tries!
