Cuddles and coordination – helping your baby develop their vision and fine motor skills during cosy moments

What you need
A toy
What to do
Hold your baby on your lap.
Hold the toy in front of them, move it slightly to attract their attention.
Make sure your baby has seen the toy as they will need to coordinate their vision with their growing motor skills to successfully grasp it.
When your baby is looking at the toy, hold it still and give them time to reach for it.
If they don’t reach the object the first time, keep holding it for them so they can have another go; it might take a few tries!
