What to try
- Ask your toddler to help you at home with tasks like preparing food, tidying up, or simply picking out a book to read.
- You might need help from someone other than your toddler, so use this as a chance to show them how to ask. You may say something like, “Hmm, I don’t know how to reach up to that shelf, I need to ask someone for help.”
- You might need to ask directions or find an item in a shop. Say to your toddler, “I don’t know where the wipes are, let’s find someone to help us.”
Good to know
Seeing you ask for help and helping others will support your toddler to understand how people assist each other in lots of ways.
